Vaydehi è una ragazza giovane e piena di entusiasmo, creatività, ottimismo. Alcuni anni fa è venuta a trovarci durante un suo viaggio in Italia che l’ha portata anche a Roma. Ci aveva inviato via mail alcune delle sue foto e noi di Art Studio Café ci eravamo appassionati al suo lavoro. Un punto di vista luminoso, allegro, pieno di vita, che viene fuori da ogni sua fotografia.
Sono passati alcuni anni da quel giorno in cui abbiamo preso un caffè insieme, ma la voglia di far conoscere questa stupenda artista è rimasta.
Abbiamo quindi proposto a Vaydehi di tenere con Art Studio Café la (nostra e sua) prima mostra web. Vaydehi ha accolto con il suo contagioso entusiasmo la proposta e dopo un intenso scambio di mail, post su Facebook e idee, è nata Camerawaali-Love stories, che non a caso “inauguriamo” (pubblicandola nella nostra gallery al link che trovate in testa all’articolo) nel giorno dedicato a San Valentino.
Vaydehi, oltre a una notevole capacità tecnica, offre nei suoi scatti un punto di vista originale e molto particolare. In questa sua prima mostra web ci ha condotto per le strade del suo paese, a bordo di risciò, mezzi di trasporto caratteristici del suo paese, decorati con scene tratte dai film di Bollywood, a testimonianza di un mondo cambiato, che va verso il futuro.
Ci sono anche le coppie di innamorati, o semplicemente volti intensi di persone che amano profondamente il loro lavoro.
E c’è lo sguardo speciale di una ragazza, una fotografa, che va incontro alla vita con un sorriso immenso, che trasmette nelle sue opere e illumina chi le guarda.

Sono una creatrice di immagini per professione e una narratrice di storie per istinto.
Le mie storie sono profondamente dentro le mie immagini e aspiro a catturare gli spettatori come un buon libro cattura i lettori.
Camerawaali-Love Stories è un progetto nato un anno fa quando, visitando la mia città – Bareilly – ho iniziato a prendere nota delle cose che ami della città – la tranquillità, i grandi parchi, le strade strette, i quartieri verdi, e tanto altro e da qualche parte nella mia lista c’erano i risciò. Mi piaceva il fatto che ci fossero sempre più risciò e ho iniziato ad apprezzare le opere d’arte ispirate a Bollywood che erano dipinte sopra. Così è scaturita l’idea. Ho seguito, fotografato, cancellato e creato e alla fine ero lì – il mio amore per il soggetto e la vita che scorre intorno è diventato ‘Camerawaali-love stories’.
Alla fine, vorrei aggiungere che questa raccolta di immagini è dedicata a mia madre e a un’amica. Grazie per avermi incoraggiato e avermi stimolato a creare LOVE STORIES.

Art Studio Café opens, on Saint Valentine’s day, a very special web exhibition: Camerawaali-Love stories by Vaydehi Khandelwal, a very talented Indian photographer.
Vaydehi is a young and enthusiastic girl, creative and optimistic. Some years ago she came to visit Art Studio Café during her travel to Italy and especially Rome. We had seen some of her photos she had sent us by email and we’d got very impressed by her works.
She has a very bright, colorful, full of life point of view, that can be seen in every picture.
Many years have passed since that day we sipped a coffee together and our wish to present the extraordinary artist became stronger.
We proposed to Vaydehi to show her works in our (and her) first web exhibition. She agreed with enthusiasm and after many emails, Facebook posts and ideas, Camerawaali-Love stories became true. We opens the web show (that you can see from the link at the beginning of the article) in the very day of love, Saint Valentine’s day.
Apart from her technical ability, in her works we can find strong her original and peculiar point of view. In this exhibition, she takes us to India, on the rickshaws, beautiful and local means of public transportation, decorated with colorful scenes from Bollywood movies, which test a country that is changing and looking to the future.
We can also see couples in love or intense gazes of people who really loves their job, as you can see in this video presentation.
We can find the special gaze of a girl, of a photographer, who looks at life with a huge smile, which we can feel in her works, which makes us feel brighter than ever, which gives us strong emotions and take us to “travel” with her.

I am an image-maker by profession and a story-teller by default.
My stories lie in my images and I aim to engage my viewers with them just like a good book engages its readers.
Camerawaali-Love Stories was born a year back when I visited my hometown- Bareilly and began taking notes of things that I loved about the city – the slow pace, the big lawns, the narrow streets, the green cantonment, etc etc and somewhere in my list there were the cycle rickshaws. I knew I loved the rickshaw rides growing up and I loved the the bollywood-inspired rickshaw art and an inspired idea took over. I followed , I clicked, I deleted, I created and finally It was there – my love for the subject and life that went around it as ‘Camerawaali-love stories’.
In the end, I would like to add that the series of images are for my mom and a friend. Thank you for challenging me and channelling my thoughts to create LOVE STORIES.
